Sean Koscho is a financial advisor with a passion for helping others – whether that’s in the office managing their wealth, as a passionate 10-year high school football coach or in the line of duty, for the last 9 years, as a Firefighter/EMT with the Sarasota County Fire Department.
Sean grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and later attended Harvard University, finishing as a 3-year starter on the football team with a degree in Economics. Upon graduating, he spent 13 years on Wall Street, working for Merrill Lynch and Bank of America on their institutional Equity Derivative and Convertible Bond trading desks. With a growing family, and a desire for a warmer client, he moved to Sarasota, Florida.
After volunteering at their local elementary school and pursuing his passion for triathlons, ultimately competing in over 30 races, including 3 Ironman’s, he decided to pursue his childhood dream of being a firefighter. After attending Manatee Technical Institute for EMT training and St. Petersburg College Fire Academy for firefighting, he has worked for both Hillsborough County Fire Department and Sarasota County Fire Department.
Utilizing his insights as a 13-year Wall Street veteran and firefighter, Sean joined Base Wealth Management in February 2021 with the goal of helping others navigate the financial concerns typical of anyone concerned about retirement, whether in the public sector with pension questions or how to invest in the Deferred Comp or DROP plan, or typical IRA’s (Roth),Solo 401(k) or college savings.
When Sean isn’t building financial plans for his clients, you can catch him spending time with his family. His eldest son, Jack, graduated with a degree in Biomedical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and now works as a technology consultant for Deloitte and his younger son, Sam, is studying economics at Dartmouth College, while playing football.
His daughter, Sally is a senior at Cardinal Mooney who dances competitively and runs track. Sean has been married for 25 years to Suzanne, who is a professional photographer in Sarasota at Koscho Photography. When not staying fit through running or biking, you will likely find Sean traveling with his lovely wife.
